Two Thing I love : Sports and Public Relations

Two Thing I love : Sports and Public Relations

The 2012 baseball season started recently. Are you a fan?  Fan or not, if you worked for the public relations team at one of the 30 major league teams, what would you suggest to entice people to come to a game? Special prices? Giveaways? Be specific in what you would do. Remember, it’s easier to have fans in the seats when your team is winning. Therefore, come up with two plans: one, if the team is doing well and a second, when the team is in a slump.

I am definitely a fan of all sports!  I love going to baseball games when I am at home with my family. I am a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and I would love to work in their public relations department, it is actually my dream job. I hope after graduation I could get a position in their trainee program and learn the ins and outs of working with a sports team. I would come up with group specials for schools or other big organizations to come to games and offer food as part of the deal. I think it is very important to offer special giveaways and all access passes to our loyal season ticket holders. Theses giveaways would be meet and greet and discounts on food, parking and any Atlanta braves apparel.  If our team was not doing so well, I would try to get our players to give back to the community and reach out to our fans. It is important to keep a good relationship with the community and I would also get a lot of media involved in special promotions and also giveaway tickets. It is important to keep the stands filled to support your home team. It would be amazing to come up with ideas and promote for the Atlanta braves in the future

Traveling around the world……..

Traveling around the world……..

I was fortunate enough to start traveling at the age of 4, my parents are both from Jamacia so I was able to visit all my family their every summer. My 8th grade year I went to Europe and stopped in France, Germany and Switzerland. When I first got to Europe it was such a culture shock! I really had to learn to adjust and take in everything while I was there. Since im older I have a new appreciation for traveling and try to meet new people and try new things as well. There are two places I want to visit before I graduate, Italy and London.

I am such a fat kid and I love to eat and I know that Italians make some of the greatest food so I would love to take a trip there. I also heard the senerey is beautiful and I love the language.

The next place would be London for great sight seeing and also great shopping. London is another fashion city that I could get alot of inspiration from !

Twitter Assignment

Twitter Assignment

After the week is over, add a 300-word (minimum) post to your blog about the experience and what you got out of it. Include a link to your Twitter profile. Be sure to include at least one way you might find value in continuing your account in Twitter. Also, answer the question “Will you continue to use Twitter following this experience?” Your blog post about this experience will count as your Topic of the Week for the appropriate week.

I loved our twitter assignment this week! It was interesting because we were restricted on the things we had to tweet. I have two twitter accounts, so I had to keep up with both of them and remember which one I was tweeting from .I normally tweet from my phone or Ipad so I had to be very careful. I would definitely continue using this twitter account for professional use because it could be a way for employers to see that I am up to date with social media and it’s also a great way to network. For public relations’ specialist’s Twitter is a awesome way to get feedback or learn about new advances in technology or public relations. This assignment was also a great way to interact with my classmates and learn many interesting facts about them. I would have to admit that it was very hard finding newsworthy information. Due to the fact that I am really into sports and fashion, I had to make sure the information I tweeted was newsworthy for all my classmates. I would definitely recommend Twitter to all my friends and teach them the benefits of having an account and how to gain followers as well.  I will also stress to my friends that it is very important to watch what you tweet because you never know who is looking at your posts.

Social Media

Social Media

If you attended the PRSSA Regional Conference a couple of weeks ago, some of this should sound familiar to you. As you all know, there are several generations in the workforce today from Civics to Boomers to Gen X to Millennials. According to one of the speakers at the conference, Jenny Schmitt, knowing the differences in the generations “affects nearly everything – what motivates you, what you value.” How would you, as a Millennial, who has practically grown up with technology and social media, convince someone in a different generation that social media can be effective (if employed properly) to their business?

Being a student from the Millennial I would have to be able to break down the pros of social media and technology. A lot of older people are scared of the advances in technology and think it may be harder to use. That is a myth most new advances in technology are here to assist us and make our life’s better. I would probably come up with the chart that breaks down the results found once a company has advanced in technology and show an increase of money that can be made.

Childhood Memories…..

Childhood Memories…..

If you had the power to bring back one of your favorite childhood TV shows, what would it be & why?

Wow going back to my childhood days would be amazing! We had such great things to actually watch, now the only thing to watch are reality shows. One of my favorite childhood shows I used to watch was “Saved by The Bell”. This show really painted a picture of how my high school and college experience would be. I could really relate to all the characters on the show and also thought it was one of the funniest shows on television. It was very positive and had an important lesson in each episode. I feel like new sitcoms and shows are very negative and are very drama filled these days. Due to how much of an influence television has there has been an increase in violence and pregnant .
