Movies Vs. Book

Movies Vs. Book

Having just returned from the Sundance Film Festival I wonder how many of you read the book before (or even after) seeing a movie. The questions for this week are, would you rather read the book, watch the movie, or both? Why? Which do you usually prefer? What, if anything, has been your favorite book to movie adaptation?

I love to read good book when I have free time, due to being in school it’s been so hard to find the time to get some good reading in. The last two books I have read that have been turned into movie were Twilight and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Many times when I read I feel the need to understand everything that’s going on and try to make sure I don’t miss any important details. When you read a book your also able to invasion characters the way you want and aren’t forced to see everything the way the director has pictured it.

One thing about going to the movie theaters’ are it can be very entertaining.  Some people find it very interesting to finally be able to put a face to the name. The movie seems to always leave out some major details which sometimes drive me crazy! I wish directors would try to keep them the same, Twilight does a good job doing that in all of their series I have watched as well. Overall I prefer reading the book then watching the movie because of all the details in book.

  2. I see now that a good book turn movie adaptation is the Twilight saga. To me I would read the book instead of watching the movie because sometimes the director can cut out chapters of the books; causing an outrage to Twilight fans.

  4. I agree with you! The movie does tend to leave out important scenes or information about the characters. I didn’t read the Twilight books, but I have loved the movies!! That is next to do on my to-do list after getting done with all this school work!
